Denim Fall

A New Denim Brand I Tried & The Pairs I’m Loving

September 2, 2021

As you probably know, I’m a huge lover of denim. In my opinion, nothing beats a great-fitting pair of jeans for the foundation of any outfit. A new-to-me brand, Pistola Denim, kindly offered to send me a few pairs to try from their fall collection and I wanted to share my thoughts and more about the styles on this post. In short, I was very impressed and definitely recommend checking them out. You can also shop their brand here on Shopbop.

Straight leg jeans are the new skinnies so I had to try one of their styles. I absolutely love the light blue wash and distressing of this pair, particularly at the hem. This fit is perfect if you’re on the petite side since the leg is cropped (about a 26 inch inseam). These are perfect to wear with any type of shoe, which is not something that’s always easy to achieve with denim. I will note that the waist runs slightly smaller than most of my other jeans in the same size, so if you’re between sizes you may want to take one larger (the fabric is also 100% cotton).

This is the same straight leg fit as above in a dark gray-black wash that’s perfect for fall. Although it’s the same style, this particular pair fit slightly larger than the distressed pair since the fabric also has a touch of stretch. They are extremely soft and comfy!

Featured Fit: Kellin Pleated Trouser

I realize these aren’t jeans, but this pair of 90’s-inspired khakis may be my favorite from the roundup! The waist is super high while the rest of the pant has a relaxed silhouette with a tapered leg. They are so flattering and definitely not your average pair of khakis. They’re also very versatile since you can wear them casually with a tee and sneakers or dress them up for work with heels and a blazer. I can’t wait to wear these later in the fall with a cropped sweater and booties.
