Since I work from home while my older daughter is now in daycare, I often find myself lacking motivation to get dressed when I have to go pick her up after having been in my comfies for most of the afternoon. This has led me to start getting creative with how I can put a sophisticated spin on my tees, leggings and loungewear. The following tips are what I do to attain a polished look while staying comfy and casual (minimal effort required!)
Add Jewelry
Never underestimate what a few pieces of jewelry can do to add elegance to a very casual outfit. I wear my personalized gold necklaces almost every day along with a pair of gold hoops. Even if I’m just wearing a tee and sweats, I instantly feel more put together if I’m wearing some jewelry.

Wear Comfy, Trendy Shoes
I’ve never been more happy to see that furry slides are considered chic and acceptable for wearing in public, and let me tell you, these sherpa Birkenstocks get a LOT of wear (especially these days as a mom of two littles). I treat them like a pair of boots and wear them with basically everything–check out this post I recently published about tips for styling furry slides. Other shoes that are comfy and on trend this fall are vintage style sneakers and lug sole boots. Focus on Your Final Layer
Leggings? Check. Hoodie? Check? Sneakers? Yes, please. This is a super casual outfit formula but when the addition of a chic oversized coat as a final layer instantly elevates the combo. Some other outerwear options that are perfect to throw on with leggings and sweatsuits include leather moto jackets, oversized denim jackets, or trench coats.

Accessorize with Hats, Scarves, Sunglasses & Handbags
There are so many ways you can use accessories to take your looks from laidback to luxe. I personally love using hats, scarves, sunglasses and handbags to elevate my outfits. If you’re wearing a standout pair of shades or carrying a gorgeous handbag, it’s most likely nobody will even notice that you’re wearing sweats!

Add Lipcolor
Finally, a swipe of bold lipcolor can do wonders to liven up a laidback outfit. When I’m short on time for applying eye makeup, I’ll often just wear mascara and a bold lip. This rosey lipstick is my favorite for fall because it provides enough color to stand out without being too over the top with casual wear (shade is ‘Supermodel’).
