4 Ways to Look Stylish in the Snow

February 8, 2021

I love winter, but by the time February rolls around, I’m usually tired of the cold and ready for spring. Unfortunately, the reality is that winter won’t be ending anytime soon. Getting dressed for inclement weather can start to feel monotonous very quickly, but I’ve found a few ways you can use chic winter accessories to amp up your snow day looks and beat the boredom. Try one–or all–of these tips to look stylish on your next ski trip or snowy day at home.

Swap Snow Pants for Fleece-Lined Leggings

Forget the puffy, unflattering snow pants and try a pair of leggings—particularly a pair like this that’s lined in fleece. You’ll stay cozy and warm but the look is more sleek and on-trend. I’ve worn my fleece leggings every day it’s snowed this year and always felt comfortable.

Wear Warm, Fur-Lined Boots

Functional footwear doesn’t have to be ugly. These days, there are plenty of stylish winter boot options like these to choose from. Opt for a pair with a touch of faux fur or shearling detail that can take you from to snowy fields to city streets.

Add a Cute, Cozy Hat

It may seem obvious, but topping off your snow day look with a cute winter hat is one of the best (and most inexpensive) ways to stay warm while adding a stylish touch.

Coordinate Accessories

The best way to create a stylish snow day look is by coordinating your accessories. To look put together, choose winter accessories in complementary colors or go monochrome with one hue. If you’re not sure what to wear, stocking up on accessories in neutral colors makes it super easy to mix and match for different looks. To avoid looking too bulky, start with a steam-lined base like a fitted sweater and leggings, then top off your look with the warmest accessories (thick scarves, heavy coats, etc.).
