Christmas Time in Vienna, Austria

December 20, 2018

We’re back in Jordan from our European vacation and now I feel like I need a second vacation to catch up on laundry, sleep and grocery shopping! We had so much fun on our trip, although it was definitely challenging with a one year old. Lila had a little trouble at first getting into a nightly routine in the hotel room and lugging all of our stuff on the train in between cities wasn’t easy, but in the end we got to see some amazing cities and don’t regret traveling with her at all.

Christmas in Vienna

Once again, Christmas has snuck up and I can’t believe we’ll be celebrating in less than a week. We knew we wanted to go to Europe one last time before we move back to the States because the season is so magical at the Christmas markets. Everything at this market was ‘bio’ which means organic in Europe.
Enjoying a mug of glühwein (hot mulled red wine) while my hubby had some ‘turbo punch’ (mulled wine with a shot of rum!)We were lucky to borrow this cozy stroller blanket from a sweet friend who was kind enough to let us borrow hers for the trip. My husband and I kept saying we can’t believe we hadn’t thought about purchasing one beforehand because it was absolutely necessary for the cold weather. I guess we’ve just gotten out of the winter mindset since Jordan is so mild in comparison. An additional bonus to having the blanket was that Lila was so cozy and warm that she napped just fine while we were out and about during the day (something we were really worried wouldn’t happen!)I loved the architecture in Vienna—there were incredibly beautiful old buildings everywhere you looked. This layered look kept me nice and cozy while we spent most of the day outside at the Christmas markets and walking around. My pom beret and fur cuffed boots are both new purchases from my blogger credit with Shopbop and I can attest to each of them being warm. The boots also have a nice rubber sole which was perfect for walking on the cobblestone streets.I want to introduce you to my latest Brahmin beauty: the ‘Francine’ satchel. This handbag does it all: it’s functional, classic and will complete any look. It’s the only bag I packed for my trip and looked great with every outfit. If you’re looking to shop in Vienna, head straight to the Kohlmarkt area. You’ll find every designer store you can imagine there, plus some other unique local shops. I did some damage at Max Mara because their seasonal sale had just started and I’m a total sucker for their classic coats. Don’t forget to stop at the airport on your way out to get your tax refund!
