{ Friday Five: Pink Lip Review }

June 20, 2014

Friday Five 9 pink lipI’m talking all about pink lips for this Friday Five post! Pink is my favorite shade for lips and the perfect choice to complete any summer look. There are tons of options in the beauty world, but here are some of my current loves. I’ll be reviewing each color from lightest to brightest.

pink lip review, Bare Minerals moxie speak your mind, Revlon pink pop, Bare Minerals life of the party, Clinique chubby stick pudgy peony, Bare Minerals Moxie never say never

Bare Minerals speak your mind, Revlon pink pop, Bare Minerals life of the party gloss, Clinique chubby stick pudgy peony, Bare Minerals Moxie never say never

Left to right:

  • Bare Minerals Moxie lipstick in “Speak Your Mind”
  • Revlon Super Lustrous Gloss in “Pink Pop”
  • Bare Minerals Moxie gloss in “Life of the Party”
  • Clinique Chubby Stick in “Pudgy Peony”
  • Bare Minerals Moxie lipstick in “Never Say Never”

Bare Minerals Moxie lipstick Speak Your MindBare Minerals Moxie lipstick in “Speak Your Mind” is what I would describe as a pale baby pink. In the world of pink lipsticks, it’s more of a nude/neutral shade. I love it for everyday wear and wear it especially often with pastel clothing. The formula is super creamy on lips and does not require a gloss coat, but I sometimes add one for extra shine.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss Pink PopRevlon Super Lustrous gloss in “Pink Pop” is a favorite I’ve had for years. I usually don’t have much luck with drugstore lipgloss, but Revlon’s formula is fantastic: smooth wand application without a tacky feeling. This shade is a bubblegum pink that’s more on the sheer side, but can be built up with a few layers or over lipstick. It’s a steal at less than $8 (even less when you grab it on sale!)

Bare Minerals Moxie Lipgloss Life of the PartyBare Minerals Moxie gloss in “Life of the Party” is a new shade to the Moxie collection. It’s similar to Revlon’s “Pink Pop,” but the formula is more opaque. I like to wear it if I want a more noticeable bubblegum pink pout. ** Note: the picture of the color online looks NOTHING like the gloss in real life. It’s so much prettier in person! It also looks amazing layered over the Moxie lipstick “Never Say Never” (reviewed below).

Clinique chubby stick Pudgy PeonyClinique Chubby Stick in “Pudgy Peony” is a gorgeous fuchsia pink. Chubby Sticks are colored balms that are similar to lipstick, but tend to be on the sheer side. This shade, however, offers more full-coverage than most of the balms in the Chubby Stick collection. Sometimes I’ll add a layer of Revlon “Pink Pop” gloss over top.

Bare Minerals Moxie lipstick Never Say NeverThis baby is my new favorite lipstick–Bare Minerals Moxie in “Never Say Never.” It’s the brightest of the pink shades featured here, and the best option if you’re seeking some pink lip “POW.” It’s a stunning hot fuchsia pink. I like to line my lips with Bare Minerals lipliner in “Jazzed” for more staying power. If I want more shine, I’ll layer Moxie gloss in “Life of the Party” on top. I especially love to wear this lipstick with black or white clothing (or both!)
